<p>Spend a little time searching the threads on this forum. You should find a bunch of spirited conversations about the vibe at UM. I think one of the best ways for a non-student to experience it would be to visit campus for a couple of days, shadow a current student (peer groups exist for the marine science and business schools). Attend a couple of classes, eat in the dining hall, attend a game, meet students in the dorms. You’ll know if it feels right, or not.</p>
