Typically can you get a 36 on the ACT Science if you miss one question?

^

The conversions that I see on line all show 40 scales to 36 and 39 (one wrong) scales to 35 on science.

On the sections with 40 questions, one wrong can sometimes drop you to a 34.

On this past June ACT, my kid got one wrong and has a 36 in Science. Therefore, I think the short answer is yes.

^^
but it really can vary. I think out of the 4, science is the one that most likely drops to 35 if you get one wrong. Unlike English and math where you can make 2 errors and still get 36

I’m not a test taker but S19 was on February 10. Supposedly the science section was very, very hard. Go check out reddit forum on ACT to learn more.

Google ‘college panda act curve’ and you’ll find two links to informative pages (I can’t imbed outside links)

One shows past ACT curves, which tells you how many missed questions have meant 36 in the past. The other shows probabilities of the curved score for X number of missed questions in each section. They’re great to play with - please take a look at them.

On the second link you will see that for 5 of the 6 tests he has data for, 1 missed question in the science section has been a 36.
