So I just submitted my app to a top tier college and I realized I had a typo
I wanted to say “while looking at other boats’ positions” (plural form) but instead I said “while looking at other boat’s positions”
ughhh does it matter that much?

It’s a minor typo in a larger piece of writing. Probably won’t matter, but just fix it for the other colleges.
Though colleges do look at quality of writing, they’re not gonna be stuck up on this one typo, as it’s the overall theme/topic of your essay that truly matters.
hopefully :(( thanks!!
Won’t matter in the slightest; AOs read hundreds of essays and small typoes like these are usually glazes by on the first read (atleast, I didn’t even catch a typo or two of a college essay until my fourth or fifth read). AOs will probably not scrutinize your essay in as much detail as you do in terms of grammar, punctuation etc; of course, errors that disrupt sentence flow are noticeable. This is not such an error, so you’re fine.
What would it say about the college if they were to select or reject applicants on the basis of a typo!
Chill it won’t even matter.
If the biggest concern you have about your college app is a typo, I’d say you’re doing great!
