I recently happened to open my submitted PDF for early decision and noticed that there were a couple errors in my essay including two deleted words and a missing space. However, I subsequently checked the essay itself in the writing section of the common application, and these errors were not present. Also, being that I revised my essay numerous times prior to submitting, I am positive that there was a glitch in the common application system.

The error was:....perusing any work of literature from the to Treasure Island and Huckleberry Finn.

It was supposed to be: .....perusing any work of literature from the Magic Tree House to Treasure Island and Huckleberry Finn. (Makes sense in the context of the essay)

I tried emailing the regional admissions director, but she didn't answer. It makes my application come off as careless even though I revised many times. Do you think this will have a big impact on Columbia admissions (ed)?

Thank you for helping me!!

It depends whether or not the admissions read through the essays carefully. They may see it, but they may not! HOPEFULLY, they just read over it. best of luck.
