Hi,

My son has recently been notified of his admission to UA for Fall 2017 as an economics major in the business school. His weighted GPA and SAT scores meet the requirements for the Pres scholarship. Does anyone know if he needs to complete a scholarship application in order to receive the scholarship? I ask because it seems automatic if you meet the criteria. Thanks very much.

Technically he does not have filled out. But why not fill the application out? Department may give him scholarship. App is super easy …there are no essays

Hello,

Thanks for the help, my son received his scholarship letter the other day. As it turns out, the out of state scholarships are automatic if you meet the criteria. The other merit scholarships require completion of the application.

Of course, the scholarships cannot be combined to exceed the value of tuition.

@mac001 Alabama does allow scholarships to stack in excess of tuition. You cannot stack multiple admissions scholarships, but dept scholarships can stack on top of admissions scholarships.
