UF and pretty fine company. Methodology on US News Survey (as well
as others) favors schools who are “into it.” And, work at improving their
US News ranking. I’ve heard that some schools call and jaw bone their
way to an improved position. My own opinion, a. top 25, b. Tier 1, c. tier
2 and c. tier 3 minus. Any interpretation beyond is garbage.

You are wrong. Yes, they are petty enough to make that a factor, especially after the scandalous situation that the President of UF (Manchen) created himself. The Peer Assessment score has nothing to do with budgets nor with being private or public. It is nothing more than a very subjective perception of what other presidents think of your school. Back in 2009, Manchen gave UF a score of 5, comparing it to Harvard and MIT, yet he gave a lower score to other Ivies and a 3 to Miami. He became the joke of the state, (and much of the nation) …and if he was so biased to try to manipulate the rankings like that, then it would not be surprising the rest of the presidents get “petty”.

Morse himself stated in the article that a significant drop in the PA score is what dragged UF down.

like i said, i seriously doubt those people are so petty they would do that. i don’t have any reason to. especially when there is a reasonable explanation on the side.

maybe they are, i don’t know. i don’t hang out with bernie that often.

MyOpinion, here is a math question for you. Of the 2000 respondents, how may would have to drop their PA score to the minimum value of 1 before it would affect UF’s score by one significant figure? How does this number compare with the number of institutions that were supposedly slighted?
