<p>The Office of the Registrar reports 42,716 enrolled students for fall 2011, of which 5,595 hail from 122 other countries and regions. The top five foreign countries represented at U-M are China (31.2 percent), India (13.4 percent), Korea (12.3 percent), Taiwan (5.1 percent), and Canada (4.4 percent). Reports list 1,747 students from China (an increase of 20.3 percent over 2010), enrolled primarily in engineering (823), LSA (522), and business (106). Of those, 1,158 are in graduate or graduate/professional programs and 589 are in undergraduate programs. A total of 287 students are reported from Taiwan, 122 from Hong Kong, and four from Macau.
