I've been accepted to both and also the General Honors College at Miami. Miami would be about $8,000 cheaper without accepting any loans or work-study; and it would only be about $6,000 cheaper if I did accept those options. I'm currently planning on majoring in Biomedical Engineering, possibly taking a premed track. I loved both campuses when I visited, although I think I would have a better social life at Miami, since more people go out there than at Rochester. I'm from Massachusetts and the Winter doesn't bother me very much but year-around summer would be nice as well so the climate isn't really a deciding factor. I think what it's mostly coming down to is how well Miami's BME Program stacks up against U of R's, so input on that would be great but any other additional comments are welcome as well. Thanks.

Shameless bump

I guess I’ll bump this one more time, seriously looking for some help

I think the question comes down to how much is money a concern for you/how much debt are you taking out.

Both schools are good and will prepare you for med school. If money isnt an issue at all I’d go to Rochester. However, in most cases I’d save the money and just go to Miami.
Socially, Miami seems more fun too.

I’m not sure why anyone would want to go to school in Rochester for four years. I would choose Miami.

Can you ask what recent graduates of each program are doing now? Also, look at course offerings within each program to see which appeal to you more. Ditto that with what profs are doing (research, etc).

Both are good schools for pre-med, but I’m not so sure with BME. If it comes down to a tie, I’d save money and go with the less expensive option, but if it’s not a tie, that amount of debt wouldn’t be a deal-breaker.
