U of Chicago for engineering?

Any good? I wanna major in biomed eng or chem eng

I don't believe UChicago offers engineering of any type. It is strong in the sciences on which those engineering disciplines are based.

ohhh okay thank you :)

...is that a piece of research that is so hard to do? It seems to be a common thing.

I remember reading somewhere about an adcom saying something about an application that included "The high quality of the architecture/engineering [cant remember which] program" as a main reason they wanted to go to chicago :)

I'm pretty sure they didnt get in.

sowwie~ :)

UChicago does not do the whole pre-professional thing.

There are no majors like business, engineering, architecture, journalism, or a specific pre-*** major. It revolves around the theory that college is supposed to make you a better person all around and not train you for a specific career--thats what trade schools or graduate programs do.

It's not to say that you cant be on a preprofessional course (there are many students premed or prelaw). I'm going to be a physics major which could easily lead me into doing the same things that engineers do after grad school (well, not ChemE or something). Many MANY people are going into economics as their way into the business world rather than an actual business or finance major (that stuff will be taken care of when they get their MBA)

You're a physics major at UChicago...which is exactly what i want to be in a couple years. How do you like the physics program? Anything that a prospective student should know about it?
