What do you guys think. DePaul (Strobel Honors Acct), IU Kelley School, or U of I College of Business? I am from Chicago and trying to decide between the three.

Cost at DePaul is only 17k for me and U of I and IU will be right around 30k. Which B-school has the best reputation in your opinion and which would be help land a great accounting job after school? Any thought or opinions on choosing are greatly appreciated!

The accountancy program at U of I is ranked 2nd in the nation. Kelley, overall, I’d say is slightly better across all it’s programs, but U of I clearly has a better accountancy program. The top accounting firms in the nation recruit at U of I. Both Kelley and U of I’s Business college are comparable. You get what you pay for. Where you go is up to you.

If you plan to go to grad school (business), it should not matter what college you choose. But if you do not plan to attend grad, you should consider Depaul; it is less expensive and has a good business program which is highly recognized in Chicago (as you may already know).

I wouldn’t go to depaul if you want to get the best education but I mean if you want to be in the city and save some money then yeah why not

That’s my big problem. I live near the city my whole life and would like to get away for college. I would still enjoy my time at DePaul but it was last on my list when applying.

The max my family can afford is IU’s tuition and that’s pushing it.
