<p>Hey guys I'm from Illinois and got into the Business school at U of I and was admitted as an Econ major at UCSB and UCD and was wondering which schools would be best if I wanted to work on the West Coast.</p>
<p>I know that U of I's Business program is outstanding, but I hear it's only reputable in the Midwest, and that, of course, you can only get internships in the area around the campus...i.e....the Midwest.</p>
<p>I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and am dying to return to my native state. My only deterrent from attending UCSB or UCD is the out-of-state cost, although my parents said that should I choose to attend either, they'd move back to CA as well and cut all financial ties with the state of IL, etc.</p>
<p>I'd just like some general input, suggestions.</p>
<p>I guess the basic question is: Is a U of I degree worth more than a UCD/UCSB degree if I'd want to work on the West Coast, specifically California. </p>
