Any other colleges that would be a nice match for me would be recommend :D

Awesome job with all of your extracurricular activities! You have decent shot at both of these schools, but your unweighted GPA is really holding you back right now. If you can get it up to closer to 3.9 or at least 3.85, your chances should be increased greatly. UofM puts a lot of emphasis on uw GPA. Best of luck to you! I will be a freshman at UofM in the fall. If you have any questions later down the road, feel free to ask. You may want to look into the University of Rochester. I’ve heard excellent things about the school, and I would have a good chance at getting in.

I definitely agree with the first poster; UMich loves that GPA!!! However, they will take into account an upward trend.
Take a look @ some top tier schools. Rice is one that comes to mind.

So you want to go premed track in LSA?
You should be a match to high match. I agree that your GPA is a little bit week but it is still within the mid50. As you are in state, you should not too worry about it.

being in-states helps alot. I would recommend pursuing leadership roles in student government and/or clubs. Other than that you’re set.

I’m guessing U of M refers to Uni of Michigan not Uni of Miami?

I agree with the above posters. More leadership roles.

I wish i could raise my gpa but i cant even with all A’s Sophmore and Junior year i had a 3.5 avg freshman year so thats what brings it down :(( but it does help that it was freshman year right? That there is a major upward trend? Would it help if in my essay i could explain why my grades were lower freshman year due to a personal issue? And what leadership could i do besides government?

Thank you for all the replies!

When U of M is right next to ND, I would assume it is UMich instead of Minnesota, Miami, Missouri, etc.

Yes sorry for the confusion u of michigan

Try taking the SAT. I did so much better on that than on the ACT

Zeke55 how much better did you do on the SAT compared to the ACT?

UMich: match
ND: high match

You have great ECs! I think your GPA is a little low but nothing that will hold you back and nothing that will keep you from admission at ND or UMich. I think both are a match. Keep going with your stellar ECs!

Please chance back

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1635802-notre-dame-michigan-washu-slu-northwestern-i-will-chance-back.html#latest</a></p>

Just more Leadership Roles !
Otherwise you should get in

Mich is a match and Notre Dame is a low reach. I would focus spending time and really dedicating yourself to your ECs. You should be passionate and care about every one of them. That’s what schools like to see. You don’t necessarily need leadership roles, but you should try to get heavily involved.

Are these schools your top choices?

Really good chances at both colleges, I definitely agree with @picklechicken37, keep up participation in your EC;s because they look really good and the volunteer hours also are attractive in the admissions process. As long as you keep working hard in your classes and raising your overall GPA, you should be matches to low reaches about both colleges.

Chance Me?? http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1651346-help-rising-junior-chances-for-my-top-schools.html#latest</a></p>

Michigan will be a match/low reach because it is competitive for anyone
Same goes with notre dame!

Your stats are awesome though ! Raise your gpa junior year if u can

Chance back plz !

I think notre dame is a match and U Michigan a high match (not as familiar with notre dame). Try to raise your gpa, get a little more involved in clubs, and possibly consider taking the sat (do a practice and see what you get) if you may find it easier as some people do. A 2100 on the SAT is probably as hard as a 33 on the ACT from what I’ve seen but I may be wrong. Your best bet may be improve your act score. If you get involved in a few clubs and get your act up to 34 I think you’ll get into both these schools fairly easily.
