I’m applying to U of M, and I really hope to get in. The problem is, I am a terrible test taker. I got in the low 20’s on the ACT (taking again soon) BUT I have a 3.85 GPA with a lot of AP courses and honors recognitions.
My activities are diverse, I do lots of volunteering, member of NHS, an advanced choir program, and have an internship at a dental office, and played volleyball (not this year though).
I’m really strong in my writing, so my essays are very creative and deep.
Also, I have a lot of legacy at the University of Michigan. My dad went there, so did both of my grandpas and my aunt.
But with all of this being said, I have a really bad test score… I hate it. It does not test how knowledgeable someone is. It tests how well you can take the ACT…
Will they consider me? What are the chances?
If you are applying to Engineering, you need at least a 30 to get in, but getting a 32 or 33 would be safer.
