U of Oregon - good music department?

Does anyone attend University of Oregon studying music? I'm a high school junior right now and I'm planning to major in music composition after I graduate, so I'm trying to figure out where I should be looking. I might be visiting Oregon next week, so I figured I'd get some opinions on their department. Suggestions for other music schools (and no UNT) would be good as well.

Also, would I have a decent chance of getting in?

GPA - 3.8? I think. Close to there
Taking some decent classes. AP Chem (might drop next semester), I did honors geometry freshman year, I'm in my third year of Japanese. I also do a LOT of music stuff. I'm in two different band classes, I've done marching band for 2 years now and I will my senior year. I'll be in 3 music classes next year, taking music theory. I do drum corps during the summer, so I basically go travel around the country playing music.

Entrance into any good music program will be dependent on a good audition or, in your case a good composition portfolio. I have no idea about the level at the U of Oregon. You might check the music majors forum here on CC, lots of composition parents and students there.
