My D20 attended their open house last month. It was her first time on campus and she liked it a lot. It’s a very pretty, self-contained campus which is what she is looking for with friendly students. Easy access to the medical campus is a plus. We wandered down to adjacent College Town which has the bookstore and eateries and the necessary Starbucks which she also liked. It’s convenient to the airport, but unfortunately for us no direct flights to our hometown, so that was a bit of a negative.
@ejaneb What other schools are you considering at this point? My D was also accepted in the 28 wave.
@Darcy123 We will definitely check out College Town! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Rochester is really my number one. I was loosely considering the University of Washington because it is so much closer to where I live, but I am (in theory) ready to commit to the U of R
@SpecialK what other schools is your daughter considering?
@ejaneb That’s funny! My D was accepted at Washington as well but it can’t beat an offer she got from the University of Maryland. So, I think she’s down to Rochester, Maryland, and UNC
Who else got an email about the RIG program?
My D was accepted with a merit scholarship. Does anyone know if it will be renewed every year if she keeps up her GPA? Without the scholarship, we won’t be able to afford. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
@DovGirlMom. I had the same question for my daughter’s scholarship. She was reassured by the FA that, yes it is renewable. You could also check it https://faonline.rochester.edu/Logon.aspx
@DocGirlMom Always check with the FA office, but I can assure you that my daughter’s merit aid continued at the same level through all four years.
My lad’s was also automatically continued all four years - no extra effort on our part.
I was told yesterday that Merit scholarships are renewable each year by keeping a 2.0 grade average
Hi @Meshmesha I am from Egypt, too, but I am still on the waitlist. Can we just talk privately via Facebook- maybe?
Hello, It’s been a while since the last comment here. I wonder if anyone has any news about students getting admitted off the waitlist, or if you recieved any emails from Rochester
