U of R Class of 2023 Applicants Discussion

I’m in!! U of R here I come!

Deferred. Good thing tho, because I actually thought I would be outrightly rejected. I’ll send supporting materials.

Proud to say my Twins were accepted !!!

Congratulations to all !!!

@TGryx23 previous years they rolled out batches - sit tight.

@fbsdreams when will be the next batch?

@ABEinstein mind sharing your stats? I have been deferred as well…

And, could anyone provide insight as to what the acceptance rate for deferred decisions are?

Batches rolled out over 24 hours if I recall correctly.

I GOT IN!! I AM SO HAPPY! Has anyone gotten information about scholarships yet ?

@si890 Congrats - no FA/Scholarship received.

For my son’s c/o 2021 acceptance, FA came within two weeks.

@fbsdreams congrats for your twins!! And thanks for the information!

Oh my god!!! I got in!! Class of 2023 let’s gooooooo

I got in!!!

“Thank you for your Early decision application to University of Rochester. While the committee has determined that you have potential success at Rochester, we are requesting for additional information before making a final decision…”

These were the first few words I saw when I opened my decision letter. I am an international student, and I believe I have submitted every bit of information that Rochester needs to make their final decision. They were requiring that I send my mid-year report but since I’ve graduated from high school already my Counselor sent my final year report to substitute for the mid-year and also an updated test score (including IB, AP, or national exams) since my school doesn’t deal in APs and IBs, I submitted my national leaving exams and my SAT test scores. Now, I am very confused as to what to send again. Please I need help.

I didn’t submit mid year grades either and I got in. I’m also an international student @Ken203 Maybe you should just email them and ask why

@Reina712 Thanks a lot. I will do just that.

Please did anyone get in without taking the interview?

Very excited that my D was admitted! Congratulations to all that were admitted and to everyone else, keep your chin up. This has been an emotional day in my house so I think it’s worth reminding everyone that admission decisions shouldn’t be taken personally as (i) is not just about the applicants, it is often about what a school is in need of, and (ii) admissions officers are only human - they are making subjective determinations about a huge number of kids with great credentials and sometimes they just make bad or arbitrary decisions just like the rest of us. There are tons of great schools out there and a nearly endless number of paths to success - Rochester is just one of those potential paths. You now have the opportunity to gain great satisfaction by becoming a great success and proving an admissions committee wrong.

@Ken203 I would email, but also call first thing Monday morning. If needed, your counselor can call in your place.

Does your portal show any red checks ?

I got rejected, not ever deferred. It’s so annoying but I’m surprisingly not that sad. I guess Rochester is not the best fit.
