Thanks- he was accepted on 2/17 and still nothing.
My son received his UofSC admittance package today. 2/17 was his decision day.
For those in December, I assume everyone is still waiting on the formal scholarship letter. We got the - at least letter - back at acceptance.
Yes, we are still waiting. Same with Clemson. SC seems to be on a different timelineā¦
Son accepted in Dec and in first round of honors. We are still waiting on formal scholarship letter and amounts. Any idea when full financial aid/coa numbers will be sent?
We are wondering the same, and have heard sometime in mid-March. My son has not received any details of merit or any type of aid that aid that helps reduce tuition.
The standard government unsubsidized loan is not the most beneficial āaidā (in my view) since you eventually need to pay it back with interest.
Itās not possible to get overly excited about UofSC until my son knows the final cost of attendance.
Yes, itās ridiculous that schools count the $5500 against your COA - like itās a grant. Thatās like saying if your credit card bill was $5K but you only paid $1K and took a $4K loan that your total cost is $1K.
Our issue at U of SC is they say we need to do something in financial aid. They sent a similar note to many Iām told. But you canāt update what they want unless you can access the aid portal. And the system says you cannot access the aid portal (through the self service) unless you are enrolled. They had me call IT who said itās not their issue - itās aid - so itās a big circle to nowhere.
As we know weāll only get the loan, itās not a huge dealā¦but for those who might get need based aid, it would be. They said it wonāt impact merit.
We are still awaiting 6 more April 1st-ish dates so I guess mid-March isnāt the worst.
But I hope all schools under promise and over deliver - i.e. get their decisions out sooner.
That said, the April 1st schools likely wonāt come in at the cost needed.
We can access Self Service Carolina, but the Award details are not available yet.
Even a small āawardā towards tuition helps, and psychologically it creates more interest because you feel youāve been given something.
Does anyone know when RD decisions will be out? My D was deferred from EA. Thanks.
Biochemistry. Thatās nice. I here from my daughter that itās a good program so far.
I currently have two kids at UofSC and aid usually donāt show up on ssc until early April.
do we think regular decision will come out march 12?
Did you see that date posted somewhere? I canāt find any information about when they will release RD
I hope so. The wait is driving us crazy.
I think uofsc will release in batches, so just wait for the email. I literally woke up every morning scared and see if thereās new email.
A couple of things about the last drop - my DS got accepted - he got access to the Self Service portal for āfinancial aid,ā they put a message on social media, and he got an email on a Wednesday. So, donāt necessarily expect anything on a Friday.
My D got deferred in December. 4.6 gpa lots of extra credentials but was never able to take an ACT/SAT. still waiting for a decision but itās her top school, nervous about how many people applied/how many theyāll be accepting. Are those stats typical for deferral?
Do you know if the decisions are always released in the afternoon?
Anyone have an update on when decisions will be released?
The wait for the final merit letters is killing meā¦
