Waitlisted as well.
Wait listed here as well.
3.6, test optional. wait listed. confused about the mid-May response date. how do you wait till mid-May if you have to commit to other schools on May 1?
Also waitlisted. Not the decision we expected but then again, nothing about this entire process has gone as expected. Super disappointing.
Waitlisted as well may not be the decision I was looking for but Iâm just glad it wasnât a rejection. What is everyoneâs plans that did get waitlisted.
You have to commit somewhere else. Then after youâve made your decision and put down your deposit you may or may not get into UofSC in mid May. If you do, then you need to decide if you want to accept your UofSC offer and tell the school that you committed to that youâre not coming. For us waitlist is not an option. My D didnât have a #1 choice or dream school. So she will make her decision from the schools that accepted her and not look back.
also a waitlisted 4.1gpa test optional.
Daughter waitlisted too. 4.0 test optional & great ECs. This was not her #1âŠlooking more and more like Florida.
i got bridged, i dont exactly know what that means?
my son got waitlisted as well- super bummed, USC was his 1st choiceâŠ
Is that the Gamecock Gateway program? Thatâs what my son got.
Mine says the palmetto pathway residential bridge program
do schools ever get to the waitlist before May 1st?
Waitlisted as well. Did anyone get in today?!
My daughter was bridged- which is great, but I do know from my other kids and their friends the USC bridge program is first come first served and fills up very quickly. If any of you were bridged and you definitely want USC I would accept it soon. My daughter is waiting on Clemsonâs bridge (because she wants their vet program) so she will probably lose this as option by the time Clemson releases their next round of notifications. Just letting you guys know not to let it pass you by if you want USC. The bridge option is supposed to be great.
I applied to the business program for early action but was deferred in December & then I found out today that I was waitlisted⊠I didnât even know UofSC had a waitlist lol but kinda disappointed because I have a 4.7 GPA (South Carolina Weighted Scale) & decent extracurriculares w good supplemental materials but I guess it was because I applied test-optionalâŠ? Iâm from MA so it was very hard to get a test in before the early actions applications were due. Did most other people get waitlisted too?
Anything is possible. Schools use the waitlist as a way of making sure they fill the class because they need the tuition revenue. Thatâs why the waitlist decisions usually donât come out until after May 1. The school will see how many kids accepted and then start working their way down the list so waitlist can actually happen in waves. Once theyâve filled the class, theyâre done. So if UofSC accepted a lot more kids with higher stats than they typically have in the past, they might not get the yield they were expecting. In that case they will turn to the waitlist. My guess is that many of us that got waitlisted fall into the category where we thought this school was a target or even borderline safety and thatâs why we are surprised. UofSC is waitlisting us hoping that we will take the offer when it comes. Itâs a numbers game for them but itâs an emotional decision for us. My daughter is not interested is being a schoolâs backup plan for filling a class. We are OOS so itâs not going to be a financial decision that would make us change our minds. But I understand that everyone has different circumstances. So best of luck to everyone. I hope you fall in love with a school that loves you back.
