U.S. Air Force Appoints SC Alumna as Chief Scientist

<p>The United States Air Force has appointed a woman as Chief Scientist for the first time. Mica Endsley earned her Ph. D. at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. She worked as a research scientist and later was a professor at Texas Tech University.</p>

<p>Dr. Endsley founded her own company in Georgia, SA Technologies. She has also served as the past president of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society. After her term as Chief Scientist concludes she plans to return to leading SA Technologies.</p>

<p>In addition to the above Dr. Endsley has written over 200 articles and has been the editor of two journals in her field. She is a Fellow of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, a registered engineer (PE) and a Certified Professional Ergonomist.</p>

<p>She was a visiting professor at MIT and served the Air Force on various advisory committees.</p>
