Hey everyone! AP scores just came out, and I saw that I got a 4 on the APUSH test. I know that’s a decent score, and if it was on something like Chem, Calc, or Physics I would be super happy, but History and English are my strong suits. I will be applying to a few top 20 schools, and will definitely major in either Politics or International Relations. I kinda expected to get a 5 on the APUSH test, as I got a 790 on the Subject Test and have won a few US History awards. So basically what I’m asking is, does the other stuff I’ve done override the 4 I got?
yes, you should be ok! I got a 4 on APUSH too and I was extremely disappointed but just be sure to tell yourself that colleges don’t really factor in AP Scores and the 4 will give you credit!
I think you’ll be alright with the 4! Since you have a really high score on the subject test and have won history awards, I think the schools will definitely understand that you’re proficient in history. If you’d scored a 1 or 2, circumstances might be different, but I really think a 4 still shows that you’re qualified in that subject area when combined with those other accomplishments.
