AP's!!!

I am taking 2 AP’s next year, and i am just wondering is it worth taking three AP’s just for the AP scholar award
-or would it look better if i got an A in USH rather than a B in APUSH
so i would have straight A’s junior year
-still cant decide:(
-thnx for all your advice

Do you enjoy history, or think you would enjoy history? If the answer is yes, take it. If no, take regular and spend more time on something you're really passionate about.

APUSH is a fairly difficult course, so try to think if you would do well at it. While top grades are nice and important, I tend to think a challenging schedule takes the edge. 2 AP's is fine. 3 is great, but don't push it if your grades will suffer.

Why would you get a B? I'm sure if you put enough effort, you can manage an A. I would go for 3 AP's. If you like history, this course isn't too hard. Also, it depends on your teacher. Some APUSH classes are a joke while others require hours of work. By the way, the scholar awards aren't a big deal unless you get the National AP Scholar Award or something higher so don't get motivated just for a silly award. Well, on the other hand, that is a pretty good motivator. :)

Colleges know that the AP Scholar award is not very hard to get, you just have to get a 3 or higher on your tests, it's really not very impressive. You're better off taking APs in the classes that you are really interested in and good at.

nah im not interested in history at all, but all my friends are like take it anyway

A "B" in any AP class is better than an "A" in a regular course.

Excuse me for asking but I am English and I am preparing for my move to the US to start a Law degree. I have came across the term "AP" so many times what does this mean? :-)

Advanced Placement course.

It's like a college level course that students can take in high school to receive college credit. There is a final test administered by the College Board sometime in May, which determines whether or not you can receive college credit. A 5 is the best score, a 1 is the worst.

Thanks a million! :-)

If your school had an AP and you took the regular class, your deemed to have not challenged yourself.

You should go ahead and take it because you can use the test as a credit for college.

Always take the hardest classes possible, Adcoms care way more about your course load than about your GPA.
