I don’t think I’m making a dick move…I really am interested in Politics…I have a whole process of how I’m going about this. However, I will not tell any one until it is complete…so see me when I’m 50 years old. lol.

And No I can’t do the whole semester thing. I found out about it too late and well, I’m just going for a summer of 2012 Which is okay with me.=)…I love politics…I can debate about it all night long…(no seriously I can and I have done it at my boarding school lol). I even have US government email alerts going to my inbox…don’t judge me…lol.

I love politics. Its really something I have looked into for a while. And I just want to know if this will help me at all. I mean I don’t want it to be a waste of time and no one knows about it.

And what do you mean by prestigious…like Ivies and top 50 right…

Because my list is,
Georgetown
Stanford
Princeton
UPenn
USC
UCLA
Columbia
NYU(I’m still debating on this one, but considering for Law school)

That’s my main list, and its not in order of importance.

I mean along with this, my ECs, and GPA(which I’m still trying to bring up to a 90 average) and maybe a 2050-2200 SAT…I hope I get into these=)

But no supreme court visit!?..=(…ok…i can live with that.

And Donovan…what else do you think a judge does. OF COURSE ITS A JUSTICE duhhh! How would it be a clerk. Don’t try and make it sound you didn’t know what i was talking about.

Loveispeac3: Are you from New York?! You and I have similar aspirations. I’m guessing you’re a junior (well going to be in September!). I have G-town, Penn, and NYU on my list but like you I’m still debating NYU but will consider it for law school.

collegebound: Do the second choice, the extracurricular’s with elaboration. and yes, faxing more than once will be alright, but only if you don’t get something from them (a call, letter or fax) saying they got your app.

and yes, my letter was addressed to my senator. chances are, he won’t make the final decision, an administrator in his office will, but I’d bet money he reads the letters at least.

loveispeace: what boarding school do you go to? and yes, the schools on your list will know what the program is lol.

Donovan: I got in contact w/ my local and the national office. I was able to get the email for the coordinator. Thanks for all the help. Hopefully, I will be able to get into the program.

I’'m not from New York, but I go to a boarding school named Masters there.

When I was at home though, like when I was younger, I used to LOVE NYU…until I found out more info…lol and visited. Its just too scattered and like…its not my type of environment for undergrad. I want somewhere I can party and is known for athletics…=) I’m a Cali girl…So I rather stay in my home state where I know where everything is. And NYU is tooooo artsy. I mean I love arts, but I love a balance between arts and athletics…

But about my list…I really want diversity. Like seriously…I’m not going to a school if its like…all one race…Thats why I’m debating on UCLA too…I just now decided on Georgetown and UPenn…I was never really interested, but I like the prestige and the plenty of job recruitment that goes on. I want to be an investment analyst before I go to law school( I want to make and save up some dough…I don’t want to be broke going into law…lol)

Yes born in raised in New York City! I agree totally about NYU but it would make since given our town. I love love love Cali! Specifically the Bay Area and San Diego. I have family members who live out in Cal. I have been obsessed with Penn for years now. Georgetown is more recent. NYU was a local school w/ prestige that had a great study abroad program and history department. I also need diversity. That’s why I cannot attend a HBCU even though my parents say I should consider going to Howard (their alma mater). I need to have friends that are Thai, Indian, Australian, German, from North Dakota lol etc. I cannot just live w/ my ethnic group for the rest of my life.
So are you applying to Boxer, Feinstein, or Schumer?

DO you think I can apply to the Senate people in New York?

I’m doing Boxer and Feinstein. I have connections to boxer thru my mentor so hopefully she can help me!! lol

San diego and the BAY??..WACK! lol

Everytime I go to San Deigo its boring. And Northern Cal is just plain…boring…like there’s nothing to do. I live close to Los Angeles, so I love LA!

I can see howeNYU could bewhat USC is to me. With the prestige and all. But the difference is…I love USC and would go there in a heart beat. lol. UCLA…is just…I mean not to sound racist or anything…but too many Asians. I love Asians…I have so many Asian friends…but I don’t like having a homogenous school.

Lol. Howard is such a great school though. I’m applying there=)…but not seriously…just in case nothing else doesn’t falls through. My mentor told me not to go to a HBCU…she did and hated it…She said she felt like there was too many black peoplelol…

Lol. I have A Indian, German(authentic) , Austrian, Taiwanese, Chinese, and Korean friends…my school is very international. lol.

“my ethnic group”…you mean black people? lol.

Well to decrease competition I would apply to your home state senators.

I’m guessing you are from the LA Area? Do not hate on the BAY!! LOL It’s my home away from home… sort of…

I get what you’re saying about UCLA that’s why I did not want to attend an HBCU. My principal doesn’t like students to apply to HBCU’s b/c they have crappy fin. aid. My parents seemed to have a great time there; they got married lol

yes black people lol or African Americans i forget which one is politically correct

yes even the summer session! i mean, obviously you don’t make too much as a summer page since it’s only for four weeks and they take out about $780 for housing but it’s still a profit.

And I just got my schedule for the july session (which starts in two weeks)!!! Omg I’m even more excited now!!!

bug: Congrats. I know you will have fun. I hope that I am in your position next year. Tell us how it goes. We want to know every detail about day to day routines even if we arent pick next year but hopefully we are fingers crossed

Yeah forget what I said about hoping. I will be picked. I am going to make sure my senator’s office knows who I am. I believe that I am one of the first to ask about the program for the summer b/c the office didnt even know until this week!

Bug: I called my old room today to talk to this summer sessions pages. Sounds like they had a blast. Enjoy your time in D.C.! Keep a journal= number one recommendation and take lots of pics.

That’s cool that you called your old room! I absolutely cannot frigging wait to go. In two weeks I’ll be there… I’m ecstatic. Last summer I went to Russia for six weeks with NSLI-Y…I’m hoping this will top that. Don’t worry, I definitely plan on keeping a journal while there (I hope I stick with it) so that I can look back and remember it all. And thank god we’re allowed to take pictures because I love pictures! No video though, lol. There’s so many rules but I really can’t wait!!
