U.S. was easy!

LOL are you kdding me? that is MORE than enough for a 5...assuming you got 15 wrong thats a 147.9....34 points above the cut off for a 5.

G'day- Those Scores are very lenient... but that's what it is. You'd be surprised how badly the national average would get. Since AP USH is the most commonly taken AP exam (200k students took it last year), it brings the average and the cutoffs down!

I also agree that the DBQ was a godsend. Of the whole course, I only knew like 1/4 of the time period, and it seemed like every free response question i chose was about that time period. The DBQ was the ABSOLUTE easiest DBQ ive ever seen on an exam. We got really fortunate! If i dont get a 5 on this exam, then it wasn't meant to be.... because i had everything going for me!

I am sure we will all get a 5, now we can get a peaceful night's sleep :D:D

is it hard to score like 7-8 on a DBQ? I used 8/10 documents, had a focusde thesis, used lots of outside tidbits, it was like 4-5 pages (front back front back .5 front), and I added some SAT words. I heard these are graded harshly. I know you guys can't tell my score since you can't read it, but is it hard to get a good score on the DBQ? What about scoring on the FRQ?

It's multiple choice raw score [0-80] multiplied by 1.125 plus DBQ score [0-9] multiplied by 4.5 plus combined free response [0-18] score multiplied by 2.75.

It is lenient.

^ you are fine... that's the same as me.. btw a 7 or 8 is AMAZING

The test was not hard at all. However, calling any AP test easy is probably a grave error. They do throw tricks in there. The DBQ was actually pretty easy; I think I did really well on it. For the first essay, I did number 2, but the topics on those were hard. The second essay was really easy though. I did number 5 for that one.

naidu -Alright- I didn't take a class (I'm in Regents- didn't fit in my schedule), so I never did AP style essays, though I do well on my regents ones.

A little concerned about FRQs, but otherwise I'm looking good! I did 3 and 5- 3 I kind of BSed a 2.5 page thing and 5 I did a full 3 pages, though I think I used the wrong years. If I reasoned correctly, but used something from a couple years before to support my argument (pro), what could that be?

sighs I'm so glad it's over. It wasn't half as bad as I thought it might be - I was unsure about 20 multiple choice but felt pretty confident with my FR (2 and 4). My DBQ didn't feel very focused though... I hope that doesn't hurt my score too badly.

I'm worried about my essays. I mean, they were organized well enough, and I included several pieces of outside information. Overall, I'm positive that I made a valid argument. But they were each at least half a page shorter than pretty much everybody else that I've asked. I only wrote slightly more than 650 words on the DBQ, and barely 350 on the other two. Do you think that length is a huge factor if you got most of the pieces of required information?

I skipped 6 MC, I think. I did essays 3 and 5. SOO MUCH EASIER THAN WHAT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE.

I skipped 27 on multiple choice. lol

I'm positive I got the other 53 right though. Hopefully the FR section will save me from getting a 2. I thought the FR this year was really easy.

it was easier than i thought it would be

predictions:

Multiple choice: I think I got about a 60 raw score
DBQ: really really easy, i knew this era REALLY well...also i have done a few essays similar to this question, pretty sure i got a 9
FR 1st set: I chose #2, think i did pretty well...i'm thinking about an 8
FR 2nd set: I chose #4...eh it was ok...probably a 6, i didn't have many examples

i think best case scenario thus i got a 601.125+94.5+2.75*14=146.5

but in reality i think i'll probably get about a 135ish. What is the cutoff for a 5?

Cutoff for a 5 is around 115.

wow, what kind of teacher makes you write an 8 page essay on flappers. Thats just awful

I skipped around 8 questions on mc, I probably got like 5 may be 6 wrong on mc. Yeah and I totally agree that some mc questions were pointless. But I LOVED the dbq. Our teacher gave us like four practice dbq's on the same subject, and she kept emphasizing that cb loves that period. For frq'sI did two and four. I think I did okay on those. But I didn't quite get all the info in on one of the rebellions.

soooo ridiculously easy! like, so easy it was unfair. im sure i got a 5.

tis not good if everyone think everyone got a 5

MC - I could believe how freakin' easy it was. I kept on expecting the questions to get really hard, but it never happened,

So then I was like, "Ok, since the MC test was so easy, easy as in it wasn't even worth my time to freak out about it, then the essays are going to be really hard, but the DBQ was somewhat easy, #3 was easy, and #5 was a godsend of a question.

I, for one, thought it was really hard.

My class hadn't prepared me for it at all. I have a teacher who's very anti-AP, so we learned a lot of interesting things and did all sorts of cool papers, but none of it really applied to the AP. I spent a lot more time studying things like Islam in early America (pretty interesting, really) than on memorizing facts and dates. Oh well.

Some of the multiple choice seemed really obscure. I thought the DBQ was the easiest of the essays. I did 3, which I thought was hard to support with tons of facts, and 5, which was ok.

I know four people who wrote about the wrong person for #4 (same last name...). Do they automatically get a 0?
