U. Wisconsin-Madison or U. Illinois Champaign?

What about Real Estate or Risk Management? UW ranks 2nd and 3rd in the country, respectively, for those business majors. They created the entire real estate curriculum!

I chose my college based on financial reasons; believe me, USC invited me into their Marshall Honors program and in their film/business joint program. The central administration then gave me 0.00 in financial aid. Wisconsin’s average cost is 18,000 a year. USC’s was 50,000. Guess which one I go to.

That being said, if we compare Illinois to Wisconsin, both of them are great regional undergraduate business schools; in the midwest, only Michigan really beats them, IMO.

Finally, for finance, you really need to attend an east coast target school(NYU Stern, UPenn Wharton, even Cornell AEM), or another elite school, to get a fair shot at a Wall Street investment banking career. Very few IB’s recruit at the Wisconsin School of Business.

Yet UW placed about the same number at Goldman Sachs as Ross. There is much less interest at UW for Wall Street than at the more eastern schools.
