UA law school ranked fifth nationally in one ranking

Bama does have an excellent law school and is also touted for being relatively low-cost, even for OOS students.

I have no interest in law school, so doesn’t matter to me, but this list appears to show that UA law grads do not typically get partnership at the big law firms. We know those types of firms are big on prestige. Any comments?

I think that may be because law grads tend to practice in the state of their law school. I don’t know if there are big name law firms in Alabama. Certainly there are some very successful law firms in B’ham and other big cities, but they aren’t likely nationally known.

Both of Alabama’s current US Senators are grads of UA Law. Other former senators and current/former legislators were also grads. US Supreme Court Hugo Black was also a grad.

Harper Lee is also a grad of UA Law. :)

LOVE this!! Older son was originally planning to go on to law school; now he thinks he may go on to graduate school in history instead. But 89% employment rate?? I doubt most liberal-arts PhD programs can match that. I think I’ll send him this article…it may nudge him back toward law school, LOL.

LadyDi-…and I’m trying to nudge mine away from law school  However, I did forward the link to her. Honestly, today, I’m really tired of lawyers, i.e. floridadad. Ugh.
