Well, technically this student is just completing Grade 10…and next year is grade 11.

Actually, I don’t believe that’s the case. Primary school in Sweden runs from grade 1 through grade 9. The “gymnasium” (high school) is comprised of grades 10, 11, and 12. So this student has completed the same number of years that any other rising senior would have completed - it’s just that only two of them (10th & 11th grades) show up on his high school transcript.
But if the scholarships office is willing to consider his GPA for 7th - 9th grades, maybe that’s enough to make the difference.
