My DS has been accepted to both, but USC (South Carolina) has offered him the better scholarship. I think I let my DS down by not having him test more often. He took the SAT twice and did not take the ACT. He is a great student, tied for 2nd in his class, 4.4 GPA with lots of AP but his math and verbal SAT was only 1270. The SAT and no ACT hurt him at Bama, but not so much at SC. We are OOS at both schools. UA gave him the collegiate scholarship and SC the Woodrow which lowers OOS tuition 50% plus a small cash award. Winds up saving about $11,000 a year vs $3500 a year for the collegiate. SOOOOO UA is his first choice, but we are going to the scholars day at USC in April. Anyone have any info on their program versus Bama’s???

AL34 started a nearly identical thread. You can find it at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-alabama/877601-ua-honors-v-usc-honors.html.

Or you can scroll down the list of UA threads and find it near the bottom of page 1 (at least that’s where it is now).

Thanks! Found it.

Bamafan -
we’re also going to Scholar’s Day and then having to make the same decision, except UA totally beats USC money-wise (so far). We should hook up there (well, not “hook up,” well, you know what I mean! )
