UAF in the winter

do they have daytime classes?

no, in winter it's strictly a night school

Ba dump bump.

I have been in Fairbanks in January. Not a place I'd want to spend much time. It was pitch dark in mid afternoon and about -10 degrees. I was also up on Thanksgiving this last year and it was actually light from about 9-3 and it was nearly 40 so not bad. But it was a heatwave that set a record..

YES, they have daytime classes. They have evening classes. They are a regular college, they function with these electronical devices called lights that keep a room bright even in the dark. Miraculous, ain't it?!

(I couldn't help myself)

But it is darn cold, as barrons said. Think -60 F occasionally during the wintertime. And about 2-4 hours of sunlight a day during december and january

Winter at UAF must stretch from mid-August to mid-July

Actually they have a pretty nice summer with daylight about 20+ hours. I'd say from June-Sept it's very nice most of the time. Lots of college kids go there to play baseball all summer.
