UBC Faculty of Science Requirements? and how can I improve my chances?

Hi, I’m a sophomore at a private international high school (not a international student, I have Canadian passport) and want to enroll into the faculty of medicine in the future, so I’m guessing I should try to get into the faculty of science first for undergrad.

The problem with my school is that we only have two AP courses.
My unweighted GPA right now is 3.69 (Freshman year + one semester of sophomore year)
I took a SAT test at home and my score was 1790

Extra curricular activity:
Habitat for humanity 1 yr
Nightingale charity club 1 yr
MUN
Sententiae and the Break (both literature clubs) 1 yr
World Scholars (starting this year)
Draxonic Design Studio 1 yr
International youth award program (starting this year)

I’m planning to take IB next year and the HL course I will probably take is HL chem, bio, psychology or chinese. I’m fairly new at all this and not really sure if I’m making the right decisions.

I know the GPA and SAT requirements are probably really really high. I just want to know what can I do to improve my chances of getting in? If I go to the faculty of science, will it increase my chances of getting into the faculty of medicine?
Lastly, I really messed up the first semester of my freshman year. Will that really affect my chances? I also heard UBC only looks at the grades for year 11 & 12?

Sorry for so many questions. I want to be prepared so I dont mess up again.

Also, does UBC look at freshman years grade that much?

hey, i was accepted into UBC Science in jan.
I don’t really know much about UBC but i’ll post a short summary of my stats so hopefully that’ll help.
Also, i’m an international student living in the united states (idk if the admission process is different.)
ACT: 32 (equal to SAT: 2130)
8 APs: Chem 4, bio 4, macroeconomics 4, microeconomics 5, chinese 5, calculus bc 4, statistics 4, european history 4, (taking ap gov and ap physics now)
GPA: 3.88 out of 4
Intel STS research report badge
lots of community service
idk if they only look at junior and senior years’ grades but i think they will place emphasis on the grades from those two years
i think being an IB diploma holder will def. increase your chance of getting in
just keep doing your best and you’ll be fine :D

QAQ thank you so much for replying
