<p>I just received a letter saying that I was awarded the OIS award from UBC.
Does this mean that I won’t be considered for the Major Entrance scholarship for international students?</p>
<p>I believe the awards are considered separately, one simply based on your entrance submission and the other a more onerous process of elimination. There are only a couple of those Major awards, so don’t count on it. Scholarships aren’t as large in Canada as they can be at well-endowed schools in the states.</p>

<p>When will we get notification of any scholarships if we get them? I received my admission package, but would like to know if I am getting any scholarships so that I can compare my options and make a final decision on where I will go.</p>

<p>I am applying for ILOT scholarship from UBC, and also waiting for decision notification. I am admitted though. My senior who got it said the decision came in April ( dunno exactly when…)</p>
<p>International scholarships may be released on a different timetable than the MES. MES notification, to the best of my limited knowledge, will occur by April 1st.</p>
