UBC vs Waterloo for graduate engineering studies

Hi guys,
I have recently graduated with a bachelor of electrical engineering degree from a renowned engineering university. I would now like to pursue my graduate studies in Canada and have set my eyes on two of the best known universities: UBC and Waterloo (for those wondering, i wont be considering UToronto for its expensive tuition and Mcgill for its harsh weather and the fact that french language could become a barrier in securing jobs)
Can somebody from either of these universities (preferably an engineering student) tell me about the pros and cons of studying a graduate program at UBC/Waterloo (MASc)?
I am well aware that Waterloo has a better reputation for its engineering program but the primary reason for its prestige is the co-op program which is unfortunately not offered to its graduate students (correct me if i am wrong). On the other hand, UBC does have a co-op program for its graduate students and its closer to alberta where most engineering jobs are located.
Hence, even thou i might end up going to Waterloo and get a more 'prestigious' degree i wont have any practical experience to boast off whereas going to UBC would give me an opportunity to gain valuable professional exposure. What do u guys think?
