wow thats pretty cool…so lets say all goes well and I get in everywhere i apply, I send my transcript to wherever i want to go once im accepted in april or do you wait until after spring semester

@vintij
I was asking if the topic would be overused by people who have multiple cultural backgrounds, thus hurting my chances…

@lakerforever24
No I am a Martian.
Just kidding…
However, I dunno if you were being sarcastic or something (I am bad at catching sarcasms) but the “world you come from” doesn’t have to be about planet earth… it could be school, club, family… even your bedroom (yes, I watched a youtube video where this speaker from UC admissions office was talking about essays).

@Eshug1…

thanks countdown.

hey i got a question… when we’re updating the courses we are taking throughout this year, do we get the chance to change some courses we don’t end up taking?
and where do we put down the courses we have already taken before this fall? dang i feel so dumb cuz i feel like im the only one struggling with this…

So do I list ALL the courses I’ve taken, even if they’re not transferable?

Snooks86, yes. You’ll be listing any and all courses you’ve taken, whether or not they are transferable.

hiroshi are u sure? cuz only uc transferrable classes show up on the list…

they should all show up, and transferable courses will have an automatic blue “CCCT” next to them

Yep. Like Estrellatuya mentioned, all classes (transferable and non-transferable) will show up on the list, but you’ll know if a class is transferable or not if a small, blue “CCCT” (California Community College Transferable) message shows up next to the class. If the CCCT button doesn’t show up to a class you know is UC-transferable, then you may have entered the class code incorrectly.

@ iambeowulf - If you don’t end up taking the classes you’ve put in your application, you’ll need to contact the admissions office to change it.

In the section where you have to input your courses for each semester, only the transferrable courses show up, so does that mean for the non-transferrable classes I have to just enter them by hand?

Are you even supposed to input non-transferrable classes?

Thats what I don’t know…some people on this forum are saying that you have to…oh well im just gonna put them on anyway, doesn’t make a difference

Different UCs tend to have different major requirements. For example, for my major, UCSD/UCSB requires Calc C while the other UCs only require CalcA/B.

To keep my options open, I plan to put Calc C as my planned course for Spring quarter. If I end up getting into the UC that I want that does not require Calc C as a prerequisite, will they be unhappy if I change up CalcC for another class?

Also, do UCs straight up reject you if they see you will be missing a major requirement by the end of Spring 2010 prior to transfer?

■■■■… i am so fricking confused now… how am i supposed to put my non-transferrable courses down if it doesnt even come up? T_T Like my English 091 class…

You just add the class the same way you add the transferrable ones… course number and all. Put it down the same way it appears on your transcript if you have one on hand.

When do I have to get my IGETC stuff from when I was in highschool, i.e. my 3 years of German to meet the foreign language pre req, and my AP classes?

@Cali Trumpet - i wouldn’t worry about changing calc C, if it’s not a requirement they won’t hold it against you. and if you’re missing a major requirement they will not automatically reject you, it’s not a big deal unless the major’s impacted.

@sanitydc - you don’t need to send in your igetc certification/transcripts until after you’re accepted, just note on the application your igetc is complete. (there should be a section for AP courses/exams as well.)

You can’t even input non-transferable classes. I tried to do it with my remedial math classes and it wouldn’t let me.

I’ll have 60 units by spring, but my IGETC won’t be certified till summer 2010, so I’m gonna ask my counselor is that acceptable.
