Ahh thank god
@Nediac uuuuuuuuuuuugh, I’ll talk to a counselor to be sure, but I’ll sign up for the class. Probably going to take it online or something. I was really looking forward to a light schedule too - eh, whatever. Glad that I found out about it at all, thanks.
For awards, I got the Dean’s Honor List 3 times. Should I put it once, and in the description, state the 3 semester I received it for. This way I can add even more awards. Or do I have to list it 3 times, using 3 of the 5 spots up?
@goldencub no problem, glad I could help.
Anyone have an answer to @Porkys questions?
I want to know this as well.
Hi, I have a question about completing the community college courses section of the app (I am an out of state freshman applicant).
The application has a section to list college courses taken in high school, excluding ap and ib classes. I was thinking that that would mean concurrent enrollment classes at my school - basically we can take certain classes and recieve credit from local community colleges. I am pretty sure I did that part right.
However, once I started filling in the courses I have taken through each community college class, I got confused because it asked me for the department and course number, and I have no idea how to find those.
Can anyone help me? I am super frustrated with this application right now!!
@Porkys and @selimpride I would just put it in once, then list the number of semestets. That way, you can leave room for more awards, and make your application seem more impressive
@Colorado30345 nah I’m putting it in twice. I only have one scholarship and that’s pretty much it, minus the times I have been on the dean list.
@selimpride Don’t put it twice. It’s just unnecessary. I agree with @Colorado30345 - it also just makes it seem that you’re trying to fluff up your application. It’s fine if you don’t fill up every spot.
Deleted. Wrong forum.
@Colorado30345 The department and course number are generally in a form like “ENG 1” or “COMPSCI 10”
The department is the field (english/mathematics, etc.), sometimes abbreviated in the course catalog. The course number is the numbered name of the course.
So say you took Introduction to Psychology, the department might be “PSYCH” and the course number “101”. Something along those lines.
I always spelled out the department name, instead of leaving it abbreviated, but to each their own.
You are so OCD, @luckie1367, it puts me to shame. Love it! :)) :)) :))
Ha, thanks @Lindyk8 :x
I remember thinking about it, since most of the terms you could guess (like PSYCH for Psychology or ENG for English), but then I thought ‘whatever, I’ll make sure there is no grey area’
Not to get so off track, but when does your daughter start?
@luckie1367 she has all her classes (yay!!) and checks into her residence hall on Sunday. So much easier being an hour away. We can bring things over in chunks. Then a few welcome week activities. Can’t remember when classes actually start. You guys still have a month to go. Insane.
P.S. Plus, they have her transcripts! :-h
YAY! So glad to hear it is running smoothly!
I forgot UCB starts so much earlier!
@goldencub Well I did it because I received it two times. One in Fall 2013 and the other in Spring 2015. I already ran out of room for the description and you are only allowed to put one date for each entry. So I really don’t see how you can put in one entry.
@luckie1367 thank you! So would I look for that in UC’s course catalog, or in the course catalog of the community college I took the classes through?
@Colorado30345 at the CC where you took classes. See if you can find the one from the actual term you took the class, just in case it changed
@lindyk8 classes start on the 26th (it’s a wednesday)
For income ……
It asks for my 2014 and 2015 income.
In 2014, I was single.
In 2015, I’m getting married in October.
Obviously I put my single income for 2014 … but what about for 2015? Even though I’ll only be married for two months of 2015, do I put our combined income, regardless of when it happened?
It goes from relatively low in 2014 to quite a bit higher in 2015. Just want to make sure I put the figures in correctly, but make myself look as good as possible for financial aid.
