Ucb

Hi Guys,

I'm currently at community college (Mission College, Santa Clara) and I was going to be applying this fall. I really want to go to Berkeley and my GPA as of now is a 4.0. I was just wondering if the people who applied to UCB as a transfer student could provide their stats/ECs/etc and whether they got accepted/rejected. I just want to get a feel of what UCB looks for.

Thank you so much guys

This is this year’s Cal Transfer thread

People start posting their stats and whether or not they got accepted on page 40.

The best way to get into Berkeley is to:

 1. Complete all pre-reqs for your major with all A’s as soon as possible. Take other classes later.
 2. Maintain academic honesty with your CC (This is obvious)
 3. Try maintain your 4.0 with all your other classes. If you do get a B, it’s not the end of the world. I got a B in English 101 and I got accepted for Mechanical Engineering.
 4. Work on your personal statement. Focus on what make you YOU! I wrote about my work experience and how stubborn I am.
 5. Extracurricular activities are not that important in my opinion since Berkeley understands CC students have work obligations. I tutored for my college, join math club, Phi Theta Kappa, etc… on my free time. No leadership anywhere in extracurricular activities but I got in.
