@goldencub That’s great to hear! Were you able to adapt quickly to the workload, or did it take you a while to adapt? Most of my friends that have transferred to Berkeley told me that they got quite disappointing grades for their first midterm, but were all good after that since then they knew how to study and the amount of work that is needed in order to get a good grade.
@Orangered123 Sorry, I just saw this right now I worked late on Friday since the high school where I work at had a scholarship reception for the seniors, and when I got home I just went to sleep. However, there was a full list of events on the Cal Day website. Were you able to find a list of all the events?
4 more days!! I am freaking out so much, although my friends say that it is unsubstantiated.
I have a 3.95 transferable GPA but I always freak myself out I just want to go to Berkeley.
I know you guys probably have your own countdowns, but here’s mine if anyone wants it.
http://■■■■■■■■■■/#berkeleydecisionday_ewsuo (the time is set at 3:30PM, because that’s the time last year’s applicants approximately starting receiving their decisions)
I’ve had this open as a window on my laptop for a week, and needless to say, it makes me super nervous and scared haha. Hoping for the best for all of us!!!
@lovelyyliz I’m in the same position, I have a high 3.8 and my friends are all like “why are you even worried”, I feel like only those who are applying understand.
Currently freaking out because I think I have a fairly good chance at acceptance but the possibility of getting a C in the major course I’m taking is very real. I wonder if it would be better to get rejected straight away so I don’t have to go through the pain of getting rescinded.
@xsadcorex sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unless you’re a minority with an insane story or your family is filthy rich and has donated over $1MM to Cal there’s no chance you’re getting into EECS.
Hey guys. I new to this thread but i’ve been following along for weeks! I was wondering if any of you feel dissuaded from attending Cal in light of all the violent protests and controversy there right now. Nevertheless, I would be very fortunate to get in.
@cydkim is it a possibility of getting rescinded if we earn a c in a course?
I read once somewhere on this site that while UCLA is a little bit more lenient with our spring grades and may accept Cs, Berkeley isn’t, and we may face getting rescinded for any course grade under a B. I can’t confirm this information for sure, but this is what I’ve heard
I am going to withdraw from a class that I don’t need and that will not impact my completion of 60 units. Would this cause me to possibly be rescinded as well?
Dangggg. (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ looks like I gotta study. (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ ☜(゚ヮ゚☜) Let’s do this bois!!!
@swill22 Well unless your protesting in east Oakland, it’s not a big deal. The worst that can happen is you get a taste of tear gas on accident (protest --> riot). Happened to my sister. She was shook by the whole ordeal but now she walks pass protests like fuck it. You get a lot more out of Cal than just a great education!
@mangobby I say wait until Friday, and if you are admitted to Cal, call an admissions officer and run it by them first.
@mangobby unfortunately my drop deadline is thursday
@mangobby I emailed an advisor in the major I applied to, and she said that historically they have asked for Bs or better but it can ultimately differ per student.
@mangobby Deadline for dropping with a W? I mean, you could still call an admissions officer and ask if dropping a course that doesn’t affect your 60-unit minimum/major prereqs/IGETC is grounds for getting rescinded. I really don’t think it would be, though
@mangobby sometimes they do demand Bs in the provisional. If you don’t need it and you still have 60 units you could get a W or take your chances with a C. It really depends on factors we can’t predict.
You’re exaggerating. Perhaps they had an upward trend. They’re doing great, and this thread should not have that sort of negativity.
@csssa13 Agreed! That commented pissed me off. Don’t be a jerk. It’s unwanted and unwarranted. @eel314
@xsadcorex Don’t listen to that person. You have a chance, especially if your grades have an upward trend! The fact that you’ve already gotten into ALL of those schools is a GREAT sign. (Also, that GPA is great. Engineering is HAAAARRRD.) Good luck!
