UC Berkeley and International Baccalaureate (35 points)

Hey there.

I'm currently in my last year of IB. Will be taking the Nov 08 paper. I'm really interested in trying for UC Berkeley esp for their business related course.

Was wondering if there's anyone here who knows information regarding UCB's thoughts regarding IB students. My school's average IB marks from last year was 39/40 points... Im hoping for abt 35 points or so. so i guess my question would be, What are the chances of entering UCB with 35 points?

I'm currently a Sgporean PR so i will need to serve another 2 years of National Service before entering any Uni for that matter. So yeah..

Hope to hear from you guys soon..

Regards,

I was an IB diploma candidate when I applied to Berkeley last year and was accepted even before taking my last 4 IB exams. That means Berkeley didn't even factor in what my final IB score was when the school admitted me. However, since you're going to serve two years of National Service before applying, it might be an entirely different story.

But... I did end up earning 35 points. So perhaps 35 points is good enough? Good luck!

I am also an IB diploma candidate. I am going to Cal this fall.

When I applied to Cal, I already had expected grades ready. I sent one mail to Admiession Office about my EG.

After i got my admission, i sent them my offical high school transcript. My EG was on it.

I think IB score doesn't matter at all because you take the exams and get your offical score after your admission.

I did end up with 42 pts and mailed the offical IBO transcript to them.
Good luck!!
