hopefully we hear back soon.
and UCLA

@surpris3 If you really think your information is accurate, then the least you could do is provide information that’s clear and straightforward, rather than saying something like “Oh this lady that I know asked Berkeley and they said this to her”…aka not clear and not really believable.

@darknight2020 UIUC for CS

It looks like UCB is releasing decisions in batches this week. My son’s appeal was denied when I checked the portal this morning. Good luck to all waiting!

Oof, that’s scary! Sorry to your son. I’ll be at UCLA in the fall if the appeal doesn’t work out. I’m OOS. I’ve been avoiding making the housing deposit.

exactly the same thing^

Denied but UCD- here I come!!!

@qlrp2012 What major? And sorry to hear that :(

@cmztreeter007 it’s alright! Glad that now I have a definite answer though! I am going for undeclared/mathematics. Hoping you the best luck!

Hi,
Are there any more transfers who appealed?
I applied to media studies with a 3.9, lots of EC, honors programs, working full-time while going to school etc.
I got accepted at UCLA for communication studies which is supposedly a way more impacted major and I didn’t even have all the prereqs, strange.

Also does anyone know how many transfers (if there are any) who have gotten in on appeal in the past?

Accepted! So excited, though finding housing was going to be icky enough without having missed the deadline…

I think the only reason I got in though was because my appeal was related to my medical disability requiring me to stay close to home, and I had a glowing letter of rec from a teacher at a community college in the bay area.

Good luck to everyone who’s still waiting!

@sabwe91 yeah im a prospective transfer appealer. however i applied into the college of chemistry, as a chemical biology major. if not ucb, which it probably wont, ill go to UCLA as well. gahh nervous cause i really wanna go to UCB but most likely, ill get rejected.
@ToThePain WOWW! Congrats!! thats amazing, have a blast at UCB! also im not 100% on this but i think that the housing application deadline for transfers is June 7th so i think you got time. also if you dont mind me asking, what major were you accepted as?

First off, UCLA is a great school, it was my top choice from the others as well but too far from home. Thanks so much Huh, when I logged in they said it was May 7th, probably because I’m a freshman applicant, not a transfer (which i guess is why they liked the CC professor rec :P). Either way, so excited. I was accepted as a Comp Lit major, haha, so I think I had it a bit easier than all you science and math applicants. Best of luck though!

Wow, congrats @ToThePain!! That’s awesome. :D

I just checked my portal and it hasn’t changed… I guess I just have to keep waiting until later batches of decisions come out.

UGH I HAVENT HEARD YET IM GOING TO DIE

@ToThePain ahh i see, well congrats nonetheless! and im kinda appealing for the same reason as you, to move closer to my parents cause they are both sick, but live up in the bay area, while i live in the south

@surpris3 dont worry! like you said, we should be hearing back within the next week or so.

@Bookham that equates to an eternity for an impatient person like myself

@ToThePain Congrats on getting in!! Mind telling us when is your deadline to SIR? That might give us a hint on the next batch.

@tothepian Congrats big time! If you don’t mind revealing, what was the general theme of your appeal?

I thought they were going to release all of the appeals at once… Now the real nerve is on stay calm, stay calm
