The deadline to SIR is June 1st, so I think everyone should hear fairly soon.

I wrote my appeal about how 1. Berkeley is the only place on the west coast with /all/ of the programs I want/what I plan to do with that opportunity, and 2. (and this was the main theme) about how I have a chronic illness that can be debilitating at times and how being at Berkeley would enable me to thrive far more easily than if I went to a school farther away from my home (I live across the bay).

“After another careful re-evaluation of your application, we regret that we are unable to grant your appeal for admission as enrollment spaces for fall are extremely limited. Please note that appeals are now closed and no additional information will be considered. We wish you the best in your future college plans.”
=(

@ToThePain Just curious, but would you mind telling us whether the portal said May 15 or May 1 for you before your acceptance decision was posted? I want to know more about this whole ordeal with the portal saying May 1 for only some people.

Checked it this morning and got in through appeal too (initially placed on Waitlist!). If you have any questions I’ll be glad to help! Good luck to the rest.

do you think itll be coming out daily? cause someone said that UCB wanted get all decisions out by like june 1st or something? or will it just be another large wave with everyone?

There’s 2 possibilities: First is that only one or a few majors/colleges in Berkeley have released the appeal and the rest will come in the next few days., the other possibility is that they have released a few decisions throughout the school and will wait to see how many SIR, and then after their SIR date which I think is June 1st, they will release the rest of the decisions (or another wave)

@SB0112 @mojopotato oh so appeals are done by college? so are they reviewed specifically by the colleges themselves? and i hope they come out soon, cause one, im anxious, and two, if i get in, the housing deadline is June 7th and i will definitely need to live on campus cause im from the south
