UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Applicants Thread

very good question! I really don’t know. I would like to believe they are aware of the BSE students. Also TAP rep. ask for my application Number. So that is also a good sign.

@iris126 yeah

@antwaine congrats! That’s a good sign…

@antwaine What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking? I have not received a letter request and I do not know what to think.

@antwaine Oh my god already??? I’m pretty sure that’s a good sign…

Hi guys I submitted my applications on the 30th of November (o,o) and I haven’t received a portal confirmation link from Berkely…
Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

@me2000 Same here! How soon should we have gotten an email with the link?

I just got my portal confirmation link today.

@Camchar88 I just got my portal information today as well and I applied on the 30th. On the portal, it says that my SAT scores have not been received yet but I sent them in a while ago and on college board it says that they have been fulfilled, so does it just take time for UCB to process the scores and connect it with my profile or did they get lost in the process?

Yeah, mine says my SAT report is missing as well. I just ordered it on 11/27 though, i’ll keep an eye on it though.

@ballin2022 it takes a few days for all of your tests and such to get matched with your application so I wouldn’t worry for now

@18college1111 Ok dope, thanks

Hey everyone, im a freshman Regents scholar at cal, feel free to ask any questions about the process as well as life at Cal!

@ANormalSeniorGuy thanks so much for offering your help! How did you qualify for Regents scholar? What is it anyway?

@Camchar88 Welcome! the Regents program is something I believe all UC campuses have. Essentially, Cal has the largest and strongest program, with about 200 scholars (around 2% of each class). A select few will be given early admission (for me around February), and a cut of that will be interviewed by faculty to see if they need the scholarship/deserve to have it. It gives early registration, a research stipend, and a faculty advisor. Really, no one can qualify more than others, Cal (and other campuses) simply see who they define as the top 2% of each class to give it to. Contrary to popular belief, this does not necessarily academic. At my school, 2 people got in early and were offered the scholarship: The valedictorian and me (mainly for my diversity in music and business, rare combo). A common saying is that those who are Regents are the people Cal wanted over better ranked places, but this seems to be hit and miss and for some (like me), they dont get in anywhere. In short, its automatic, and frankly mysterious as someplaces may give certain people it over others (ex: im Berkeley regents but not Davis regents)

I submitted my app on the 30th of November and still have not received a portal link. Is that bad? Should I do something?

@ANormalSeniorGuy - when were you notified of regents? At the same time you were admitted, in Feb?

@Veronica02 Yes, I was admitted early and then they notified me that I was to interview for regents. Important note, im not sure if OOS or International students can be regents, as im pretty sure that all the interviews are on campus only. But, dont quote me on it, as I know of an international regents person who was not interviewed.

Finally got my portal today!
