A direct quote from Assistant Vice Chancellor at Berkeley:
A small number of freshmen applicants will be admitted during the month of February. Students who do not receive a decision in February will still be under review as the majority of our applicants will hear from us on March 29, 2018. Last year, only 13% of our total Fall 2017 admits were notified of their admission in February 2017, the majority of whom were candidates for our Regents’ & Chancellor’s scholarship.
Accepted to letters and science with biology major! GPA was 4.35 weighted, 4.0 unweighted. passed all my ap tests. 1410 on the sat. I have a lot of community college credits and lots of internship/volunteer hours at a hospital.
Coming out of hibernation for this, but congrats to everyone who got in! I am Regents’/CoE ‘21. As a note: about 2000 applicants are given early admission, and most (but not all) get Regents’ invites. About 500 are offered the scholarship and slightly more than 200 choose to attend. As a Regents’ scholar, you’d be in the top ~2% of students at the school (and in the top 0.5% of applicants)!
And if you haven’t gotten in, the majority of admits are accepted in March, so don’t stress about it.
(also i’m probably logging off after this and not coming on cc for a long while but good luck w/ interviews!! they are extremely important to scholarship)
I’m totally stressed out now. something must be wrong with my D’s application. She got deferred by an IVY school in EA, no early acceptance from USC and Berkeley. ACT 35 (took at 9th grade), unweighted GPA 4.0, 8 APs, 7 5s, only one 4. School student council, club president, several competition awards at national level. a lot of community services.

@Laketahoe79 I don’t think you realize the volume of applicants that have the same, or better stats, than those of your daughter. A 35 ACT, 4.0 UW, and a lot of EC’s are pretty common nowadays.
