@YoungOne4 what happened with UCD?
Received email at 3:07am, U.S. Citizen. Hope this isn’t a cruel joke…
@Twimmomhell On the Monday morning of the week they were expected to release, there was a new link on the portal that said “Welcome Aggies,” and if you clicked that it took you to pages congratulation you on your acceptances. Someone called UCD, and they immediately took it down. So for the next four days, those who had it stressed that it was a mistake, and those who didn’t stressed over whether it was real. 
also, I said UCB twice in post #979…meant to say UCSB (leaked at 3 pm the day BEFORE results were due, and stayed posted for about 1/2 hour before someone called UCSB and they took it down)…so more stressing.
Sounds like an error with the financial aid dept. which is separate from the admissions dept. Everyone needs to calm down and wait for the admissions dept to release their decisions on the 29th.
@orange596 What is facemail@berkeley.edu? When I type that in, it leads to Google.

Also…did anybody who got the email get LOR requests?
check the Applying to College subreddit. Seems a lot of people got it. Someone from MD said they got it so I’m assuming it’s not just in state. ah well I’ve accepted my rejection.

So if you didn’t apply for financial aid and didn’t receive the email, do you still have a chance?
Looks like faoemail@berkeley.edu is legit. Didn’t we all technically apply for financial aid when we submitted our application? Meaning, isn’t everyone automatically considered?
@YoungOne4 Nope, you have to submit the FAFSA to be considered
@sastronaut If you haven’t applied for financial aid, then don’t even stress it! The e-mail seems t be directed towards U.S citizens who HAVE applied for financial aid.
@YoungOne4 so both schools portals were opened accidentally and leaked admissions…BUT they were no errors correct? Those that saw they were admitted actually were correct? This whole thing is beyond stressful. You should see the UCI thread people are going crazy it’s been a train wreck, portal issues, rolling admissions, no word from UCI etc
@Rohael We did submit the FAFSA, because don’t all the colleges say to go ahead and do it?
@YoungOne4 Not everyone does it. Plus, you have to add Berkeley to your FAFSA list.
