“you’re kidding… right?”

No, I’m not. There are crazy people in Berkeley that preach crazy things like the end of the world and what not, but no one makes a big fuss about it. People let people be in Berkeley.

UCBLOVE, three more days…so excited

you’ve easily got some of the most opinionated and judgmental people in the state, if not the country, living in berkeley. they might not condemn the sort of things you’re into, but don’t kid yourself…

I have had my heart set on UCLA but I feel like being in the position to have to choose between UCLA and CAl would actually be a great opportunity not many people have. To be accepted into two amazing universities would be an honor.

However, if I am not admitted to Cal I wont be shedding any tears. I’m so thankful and happy I got into UCLA.

^^ I love berkeley, but I have to agree with pinker.

Though you are going to have opinionated people where ever you go, it just depends on what kind of opinions you want to put up with all the time.

You ever visit Berkeley pink? I think you’ll find it pretty laid back. Unless you go around specifically looking for trouble…

@pinker

I feel the same way you do. I thought I would choose Cal over UCLA in a heart-beat, but now… After seeing the school, knowing I’m admitted, I have no idea what I am going to do. I really think I would be happier if I got rejected by Cal.

Wow that was so weird.

@ syntaxx… i know, man… really weird situation.

@ sunghan… i’ve been there many times, mostly for periods of time longer than 4 days. i’ve got close friends who transferred in… i’ve been to plenty of parties… sat in on numerous lectures… and explored that campus like i would adriana lima’s body…

that aside, i think my opinion is about as reasonable as anyone else’s, if not even slightly more insightful, and if i haven’t conveyed my point already… well, i mean, i could go into more detail, but i really just don’t care all that much…

ps. i don’t look for trouble… trouble looks for me… and i kick its ass every single time.

Touche.

To anyone who is seriously considering attending CAL, go check out the area for yourself. In my opinion, it’s an awesome place. Don’t let your initial impression of it’s appearance or what others say about it deter you from checking it out.

i got in ucla bu i wonder if the prestige of berkeley will boost my law school apps in the future? or if it will help me get into berkeley’s law school.I would really like to get a straight answer for this.

also, i heard that people up in berkeley will do anything to get an A. even if it means going through other people’s computers and deleting their papers, or giving them fake study guides.

^^^ I asked UCLAri about law school because I am also going to be applying after undergrad. I was wondering if going to CAL would give me an advantage over going to UCLA. This is what he told me…

“In any case, I think Cal offers a small leg up on UCLA, but it’s minimal at best. Based on the Harvard Law School admit pool, Cal only gets a small number more admits into HLS each year than UCLA, so it’s not clear that you’ll be disadvantaged at UCLA.”

That ‘small leg up’ might be what we need but I don’t think it is any major advantage.

Also, my boyfriend goes to UCLA for pre-med and is graduating this spring. He has told me (along with other pre-med students) that getting into UCLA pre-med is harder if you go to UCLA because they want a more diverse crowd of applicants that are from all over. To me that theory is perfectly logical. So I would think CAL law would be similar but it’s a possibility it’s different.

The school you attend doesn’t really matter that much except that you might have a higher gpa at an “easier” school. As for the competition, people would not be deleting papers from other people’s computers because in those type of classes your grade is not dependent on the work of others. Obviously the competition has been overexagerrated over the years but there is some competition. People cheat all the time from what i hear.

My thinking on this is go to UCLA for undergrad, have a blast since LA is more fun (for my own taste), then try to get into Berkeley for Law School.

SO LIKE OMG, IS THERE ANY TRICKZ TO FIND OUT IF YOU GOT INTO CAL OR NOT? ;)

Boalt is uber competitive.
like, HYSP competitive.

omg chibi… any leaks???

jk.

Gahh.

I’ll be in class. X__X;; I don’t think I’ll be as excited to check then. :X

yeah i know pinker. berkeley + stanford is my dream law school. but im pretty sure i might end up at either some out-of-state or USD/LMU/SCU/UC Davis level school.

^ same here, I want to see myself at Boalt or Stanford in three years.

i hope i get into cal, but only for bragging rights

my mind is set on UCLA.

i guess the decision will be out before 1pm April 30.
