I'm applying this fall to all the UC's Berkeley is my top choice.
The only thing i'm worried about is if I get in or not.
I know if applying to Letters and Science and you get in, you're undeclared.
I'm just wondering what is easier to get into. Apply as a linguistics major or Japanese major.
I've taken all Japanese classes at my college, 1 A in Japanese 4, and 3 B's in the lower level Japanese classes.
I've also taken Korean classes 1 A and 1 B. I just took Korean 1 and 2.
My gpa is okay 3.7 I'm just kind of scared about getting in because I've gotten B's.
I'm in my honors club on campus, have over 100 hours of community service, and I think my personal statement is great.
I just need advice! Thank you in advance

Hi!

I’m applying this fall and Berkeley is my top choice as well. I think you are pretty set for Japanese, or even Linguistics. You shouldn’t have a problem getting in - but is 3.7 the transfer GPA? If you have some nontransferable courses in your transcript, get rid of them and recalculate your GPA instantly. That is what the admissions committee will use.
