UCB vs. UCLA (Linguistics major)

Hi all. I know this kind of post would pop up every 3 days, but i really need you guys' help.
I'm a transfer student with a Linguistics major, and have been accepted by UCberkeley and UCLA. I find it hard to make the decision, when they both have excellent Linguistics department. UCLA is ranked a little bit higher for the program, but berkeley is a better school over-all.

Where should I go? Appreciate for you help!!

go either one... it would not make a difference with your major..

If you don't mind my asking, what was your transfer GPA?

If it were engineering or business, I'd say Cal. but in this case they're so similar just go with whichever atmosphere you like. Visit both, then go with your gut. you can't really go wrong. Good luck and congrats!

I'd vote UCLA

funny you would say that, because there's no backing for your assertion. what people usually say is "it depends on where you feel like you'll fit in more", blah blah blah.

^ i've been saying things like that over and over.
no one seems to get the point, so i didn't bother.

if people are posting here, they aren't looking for that response, because nobody pays any attention. so dmission gave an answer OPs typically are looking for.

Thanks for all the advices.

I guess I would go for UCLA, after knowing that they offer "specialization in computing" in their linguistic program. And UCB doesn't seem to have any additional computing opportunities for the major, which is kind of an insurance for future career.

dmission

My gpa is around 3.7~3.8
