I believe waitlist also means unauthorized as they wouldn’t have an account set into the berkeley system unless they were admitted. Logically this makes sense, but I am not 100% sure.

Indeed, but the number of unauthorized doesn’t really support that wl students are inside the unauthorized group.

But they shouldn’t have a CalNet ID for sure, since they are not admitted.

I dont really think that the appeal form is linked already; I would say that the day before the decision is released is the date for the appeal letter work.
