So, who has registered for classes? What are you taking? How many units? Where will you be living?

I will be taking an AC course and I am still unsure of what other one to take, as I need a minimum of 6 units to receive financial aid. In terms of housing, I am currently looking for a room to rent.

Soc 160 (Sociology of Culture), and an online class called Mind, Brain, and Behavior. I’m commuting from Fremont 2 days a week during summer. Excited!!

I’ve been seriously considering the MCB online class too. do you have any idea what it entails? (as far as workload is concerned)??
we have to sign up for the discussion too. did you get an email or anything after you signed up for it? or a syllabus or something?

Which PoliSci class will you be taking? I’m considering Political Science 3.

I read on here a month ago that the summer sessions are wonderful. I love the idea of getting accustomed to Berkeley and CAL prior to the fall rush, not to mention securing a room. I’m so excited!

No one else is taking an American Cultures class? I’m taking one to get it out of the way, as I don’t think any course from any CC can qualify…

ItsMe213- I will be taking Political Science 137C because it is what my Political Science adviser recommended. I hope to take polisci 3 in the Fall of 2010 for various reasons. It would be cool if I had a course with another CCer! You should definitely check it out or PM me for some more info on the reasons for this dec.
ttyl :)

ItsMe213- I was looking into minoring in Environmental and Economic Policy and at the same time was reading some of your older posts…I see that you were interested in it for a bit, are you still interested? I am a bit worried about the math involved in that kind of field but I was looking at the salaries of those who have MAJORED in it and it is at least 20k more than most majors. I am hoping that minoring in it might give me a boost in the Political Science arena. Do you know anything about the math involved? I guess I could e-mail the EEP adviser and find out how rigorous the course-load is (i.e. how much math it requires hehe :))

Kelli,
I was actually interested in Political Economy of Industrial Societies ;)

However, in regards to the math involved in PEIAS, I heard that the extent of it is in the MICRO and MACRO classes we have to take. I am still uncertain about whether I should go ahead and double major with Political Science or PEIAS. :/

Not sure about Environmental and Economic Policy, though :)Just call the department and let them know what your concerns are. They would probably even lead to a site with examples of the particular courses that are associated with the major. I’m sure they would be very helpful!

ItsMe213
I will definitely call the department but I am not sure that they can really provide me with the information I am looking for. Honestly, I guess I am interested in a particular kind of Environmental and Economic Policy; I prefer to explore rather than discuss topics, I would rather create and imagine than be told what the answers are…I feel like Econ is so filled with numbers and talks about ‘them’ and ‘they’ that it allows for too much distance between the ideas and potentially useful applications of them and the ‘facts’
