I'm considering transferring to UC Berkeley after my freshman year in college. From what I researched (and please correct me if I'm wrong), UC Berkeley accepts AP credit if you scored 3, 4, or 5 on the APs. If this is correct, I think I have in total 40 quarter credits, which is about 27 semester credits. Is it possible for me to fulfill the 60 semester credits after spring semester of freshman year? Also, if I take on the AP credits, does this mean I have to take more advanced courses? Thank you for your time.

No, you must fulfill the requirements by the end of the spring semester.

You don’t have to take more advanced courses if you have AP credits, but since you will be transferring as a junior they will expect you to graduate in 4 semesters and you will have to fit in all of your upper div requirements then.

^ Thanks. I’m confused by the credit system though.

As long as I complete the 60 semester units, I will be eligible to transfer, right? I also have to fulfill the seven breadth requirements. Could I use my AP credit to fulfill some of the seven course breadth requirements or do they not accept AP credit for it?
