UC Berkeley Transfer Decisions 2013

Thank you for the advice you’re knowledgeable! Good luck with everything! Honestly I’d still be ecstatic enrolling at Davis. I’m there almost every weekend!

OMG awesome! Good luck everybody! I am currently finishing the last prerequisite, I’m involved with the student body, so I’m hoping Decisions for Cal isn’t a # s game. I’m so jealous of all the 3.8-4.0!! I took a chem class which messed with my GPA. :confused: Everyone’s unique in their own way, hopefully Cal can see that in each of us (: I want Friday to come already!! This is torture.

Does anyone know the terms of admissions if admitted? I am taking a Multivariable Calculus class where the grade is based completely on tests (which have a reputation of being very difficult for this professor). I think I can pull a B, but don’t know if that would affect anything. I believe UC Davis was something like a 3.2 for the spring semester…

I think Berkeley requires that you maintain your GPA. I’m nervous about that too, because I might end up with a B in one of my classes as well.

Does anyone have a major where pre reqs are not articulated but when it came to the myberkeleyapp update you were supposed to put the major course you have taken?

@kay1541 I didn’t have your issue, but I thought I’d share this. I’m an English major and for one of my articulations, TWO classes at my CC were equivalent to just one course at Berkeley so I had to fill in for two different classes in one spot. It was impractical to say the least, so I used the additional comments box to explain everything.

I think if you explained clearly your situation in the additional comments box, everything will be fine.

@zomgrad

I didn’t state anything in the additional comment box. I am an art history major and I finished 6 art history courses, 1 visual culture course, and I am currently enrolled in another art history course. So at least I filled in the art history part of the pre-req, but I didn’t know that I had to take an actual art class. So I told them I “plan” to take it during summer. If I get rejected for missing a studio art course, I think I’ll use it as a grounds for appeals since nothing was articulated on assist.

I think if nothing was articulated then that’s not really your fault. According to the page itself on myBerkeleyApp, courses taken in the summer can count toward fulfilling your pre-reqs. So as long as you did have it as a planned course for summer when you updated your application you might get away with it.

We’ll know in three days! Good luck :)

I read on the uc berkeley admissions fb page (which you guys should “like” its pretty helpful) that someone asked and they responded that you just had to maintain a 3.0 but I’m not sure if thats for the semester or for your overall. Hope that helped!

Oh wow okay that is good news. Thank you! Maybe it was UCLA who says that you have to maintain your current GPA then and I got mixed up.

You better maintain your GPA all the way to Fall 2014 cuz you’ll get rejected.

Ugh I really hope not for either. My gpa is 3.82 and I’m taking 4 classes and am pretty sure I’m getting a B in at least one :/

Ignore that guy. He’s been trolling on every thread around here.
I have the same situation pretty much. 3.79 GPA and I’m only taking 3 classes this semester but I will most likely get a B in one. I’m trying to bring it up but my teacher is crazy haha.
It would be really dumb for them to rescind your admission for one B though

I once read a post about someone who needed to get a “B” grade in order to maintain her Berkeley acceptance. She didn’t get the grade, I remember she explained the situation to her professor, and he said her back-up school was a good school!

@UCdrone

Omg are you saying she didnt get into Berkeley because of that B?? Do you know if it was a pre req or something?

@UCdrone
Wait so she needed to get a B or she got a B? Cause I have no problem getting a B in the class, but I may not be able to bring it up to an A.

Oops read that wrong so she had to have gotten a C or lower then

Don not get a F or a D and try to avoid any C’s, but if you are getting into Berkeley that should not even be an issue.

^ Yup, she said she needed a “B.”

Okay cool I can live with that. I thought you were saying that they were gonna rescind her admission for getting one B.

I have to agree with her professor. C people shouldn’t be allowed in UCB.
