I’m not giving up because there’s obviously a second round, but I must say I’m really impressed by how bad UC Berkeley Waitlist committee is. This idiots couldn’t organize their own beds. If I were missing all my deadlines like this I’d be fired from my job. Evidently most UCB staff is as incompetent and dumb as the Admissions Office. If you get accepted, know your tuition goes to geniuses like these.
If they dont release decisions today at 6pm, that means they likely arent releasing it all and couldn’t even post their decision day on time. Watch Monday come and they still havent posted it. I hope this just means the waitlist committee is just thoroughly debating applicants, but knowing Berkeley I doubt it.
Having lived around this campus, you get to know how dumb these bureaucrats are sometimes. Napolitano ought to clean this up but frankly she’s probably why its so bad.
If it was an automated rejection email (because it’s a sunday) i don’t see a point in sending them out this late during the day.
Also, i checked the waitlist letter and the FAQs, no where indicated that july 1st will be the last day. For now it looks like they are not done reviewing applications yet.
I’ve checked this page in the wayback machine, and as of May 3rd it said the same thing “July”. So actually, maybe we just were reading it wrong this whole time. What it technically says is that available spaces are revealed through the month of June. Not that all admissions are given during the month of June.
So maybe I guess they give out admissions during July and not necessarily by July 1st as previously thought. I’ve also seen that in 2016, as soon as the budget was cleared up, UC’s released a bunch of acceptances.
Also for people saying “but we called Undergrad Admissions and…” Admissions is run by absolute idiots who have no idea whats going on and look at the same documents you are with their own interpretations.
Lol i totally agree with you that the office is not giving out accurate information. When I called, she clearly told me that undergrad transfer will be finalized by July 1st.
I got a letter too. Do you guys have the same weird email? My email says “freshman seats” and it says transfer again? Also my portal is not updated, should it even be updated?
! We will all get in it is just a matter of patience.
