<p>Can't get more liberal than Berkeley. That's all I know. So... very... liberal. Close to SF, too -- liberal capital of the world (not that Berkeley isn't liberal enough in itself). But LA is supposed to be rather liberal as well. I can only speak as to what I know, which is that Berkeley is very liberal (remember all those Civil Rights Movements?) --</p>

<p>Can't get friendlier than Berkeley. Even the homeless people will hug you -- no joke, it's happened to me before.</p>

<p>Berkeley is liberal, there is no doubt. However, I really think that the degree to which people claim Berkeley is liberal is far more than it actually is- it has a reputation of liberalism far more liberal than how liberal it is. I'd say Berkeley, on the whole, is only somewhat more liberal than UCLA. The difference is not staggering.</p>
<p>San Francisco is just so liberal, though. I live here, I should know!</p>
